Hi, my name is Scott Corey.  In 2016, I formed Rue Chartreux to pursue Architectural Graphic Design in a freelance capacity.  Rue Chartreux is named after a small street in Belgium and is where my passion for architecture evolved into a passion for presenting design ideas through drawing. Throughout my 20-year career,  I’ve helped architects and developers with Landmarks presentations, Public Design Commission Reviews, ULURP presentations, and Zoning presentations.  I've also helped firms win multiple AIA NYC, and AIA NYS awards.

Before the creation of Rue Chartreux, I was a Graphic Specialist at COOKFOX Architects and also worked for a few years as an Architectural Designer for JDS Architects in Belgium and GRO Architects in NYC. In addition to my professional roles, I taught Architectural Graphics to undergraduate students at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, my alma mater, and where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.

I’ve always strived for continued professional growth through continuing education courses and by educating the next generation of architects. Most notably, I took a Typography course taught by Master Typographer, Ed Benguiat.  By Spring 2022, I’ll have a graduate GIS Certificate, a certification on ArcGIS and mapping tools, and will also receive a Rhino3d teaching certification.

When I’m not drawing buildings or teaching others how to, you can find me in the kitchen baking bread with my 2-year-old or voraciously reading books on architectural drawing, marketing and business, stock trading, science fiction, historical fiction, cookbooks, and art history.
